ABSTRACT
In this lecture series we talk about some variations and applications of index theory. The first instance is that the equivariant indices of elliptic operators on spaces with symmetries are related to the representation theory of Lie groups. A second instance is family index in connections with gauge theory and low dimensional topology. We shall cover the following matrials:
1. Equivariant index, traces and representation theory
2. Twisted Donaldson invariant
3. Higher Nahm transform in noncommutative geometry
