Metric Geometry of the Fukaya Category

The spectral metric on Lagrangians and its completion provide a complete metric space structure on the set of Lagrangians. On the other hand, the spectral metric also has a natural categorical interpretation through its extension to the Fukaya category, which helps us understand more structural properties of this space. In this talk, I will explain two related results concerning this aspect of the spectral metric: 1) the density of cotangent fibers in disk bundles; and 2) the non-compactness of the spectral metric in general. These results are related to a conjecture of Viterbo. The talk is based on joint works with Tatsuki Kuwagaki, and with Stéphane Guillermou and Claude Viterbo.
