Non-vanishing of exponential sums

报告摘要：
The exponential sum of a polynomial over a finite field is an algebraic integer. In this lecture, we attempt to classify the degree of the polynomial for which the exponential sum is always non-zero. This leads to a deeper exponential sum analogue of the Carlitz–Wan conjecture for permutation polynomials as proven by Lenstra. Along the way, Lang-Trotter conjecture for exponential sums will be discussed.
