Yang-Mills theory and Donaldson invariants on 4-manifolds and certain kind of 4-orbifolds

摘要

       Let X be a closed oriented Riemannian 4-manifold, P be an SU(2) or   SO(3)-principal bundle over X. Yang-Mills theory studies the anti-self-dual   (or self-dual) equations defined on the space of connections on P. Through   the instanton moduli space (the solution space of ASD equation module gauge   transformation), Donaldson invariants are defined. These invariants increase   our understanding of 4-manifolds.

       

        In the first part of this talk, I will give an overview of Yang-Mills theory. For the second part, I will introduce the definition of Donaldson invariants. Finally, we apply the technique to 4-orbifolds of the form $X/\mathbb Z_p$ whose singular points are vertices of cones over lens spaces and get equivariant localised Donaldson invariants.
