On Rayleigh-Taylor problem
in viscous incompressible fluids
with internal capillarity

In this talk, I will report some results on the Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) problem in viscous incompressible fluids with internal capillarity. We find that there exists a threshold of capillarity coefficient κc, such that when the capillary coefficient κ<κc, the RT steady state is linear and nonlinear instability. However, for the case κ>κc, capillarity can inhibit the occurrence of RT instability. These works are jointed with Prof. Fei Jiang, Prof. Fucai Li and Dr. Yajie Zhang.
