On Polya's conjecture

报告摘要：
In 1954, George Pólya formulated a conjecture asserting that for any Euclidean domain, individual Dirichlet and Neumann eigenvalues can be separated by the leading term in Weyl's law. In this talk I will survey backgrounds and known results on this conjecture, and explain our recent verification of the conjecture for thin product-type domains (Joint work with Xiang He).
专家简介：
王作勤，中国科学技术大学教授，中科大少年班学院副院长。博士毕业于美国麻省理工学院，并先后在约翰霍普金斯大学和密歇根大学从事研究工作，于2013年开始任中科大教授。主要研究领域为谱几何，半经典微局部分析，辛几何等相关领域，研究成果发表于GAFA，JDG，JFA等国际一流期刊上。
